5 Panel Hats

Just like the snap back, 5 panels have also made a comeback into the fashion world. I would say this is due to hip-hop influence, particularly Tyler the Creator. The formation of the hat makes for a more comfortable fit and they incorporate an old school feel with the buckle style fitting strap.

Many of the major labels have their own 5 panels now so you can rep whoever you like. One company I’d like to point out is Toronto’s own Birth of Heroes Co. Their Hawaiian themed hats look dope and I can’t wait to add a few to my collection.

Denim Dress Shirts

Denim dress shirts look classy and stylish but they can be hard to match with your pants. You don’t want to look like you’re in a blue jean suit. What works best is a fresh pair of black or white pants. If you want to try something edgy go for a pair of camo pants or a nice shade of Khakis.

You can pick up a shirt at any thrift shop if your looking to make it unique and customize it with patches or studs. Otherwise, H&M or American Eagle carry them for roughly $40. They come in different shades and washes.

The denim dress shirts are a unisex item these days. They look especially good on girls when they got it tied in a knot at the front with a black skirt on and some gold accessories.. But that’s just me. Either way, these shirts are a good item to have in your wardrobe for any occasion.

Roots Sweatpants

We all love to be comfortable, especially on a Sunday after a weekend of partying, but that doesn’t mean you have to compromise your style.

Roots sweatpants come in traditional salt and pepper or black with elastic ankles for a proper fit, and the best part is they come with pockets!

Rocking sweat pants in public can be viewed as lazy or unfashionable, however everyone can appreciate a pair of Roots track pants for the sheer fact that they aren’t cheap. A pair goes for $64 retail and that price doesn’t change unless their on sale. I find the best time of the year to scoop a pair is on Boxing Day or Black Friday.

Camo Pants

One my favorite pieces that can pretty much go with anything is a solid pair of camo pants. These have become increasingly popular since Drake and The Weeknd began incorporating them into their style. Nonetheless, they are dope.

There are many different styles and colors out there that you can choose from. From traditional black and green to black and yellow. They can get pricey, your local thrift shop or army surplus store is your best bet.

For the best look, I would recommend a fitted pair to avoid the awkward bagginess the traditional pairs will give you. The vintage look works well with camo pants as well.

With the chilly weather now its hard to stay warm and fashionable. One of my personal favorite looks is the denim vest over a black hoodie. An inexpensive way to get one is to pull a Macklemore and hit up your local thrift shop and grab a jean jacket with water ever wash you prefer and DIY.

  1. Pick a denim jacket that you don’t mind cutting. If you don’t have one, take a trip to a thrift or vintage store and find one there
  2. Cut off your sleeves, following the seam of the arm. Leave about an inch of material between the sleeve and the seam. This will make it easier to cut a precise line at your seam
  3. Now, take your scissors again, and cut the remainder of your sleeve off, getting as close to the seam as possible.
  4. Don’t worry if your edges don’t look perfect. Washing your new vest will fray the edges slightly and leave your vest with a cool, vintage feel
  5. For a more polished look, flip your jacket inside out and use a seam cutter to undo your seam, this will take more time but will result in a more precise cut
  6. If you have any stray fabric, trim it up with the scissors

You can either leave it the way it is or add some golden studs or patches such as the traditional American flag. Now throw it over your favorite hoodie and your good to go!

It will even look dope on your girlfriend too.
