After mingling with Kobe Bryant, performing with A$AP Mob in Los Angeles, opening his OVO store in downtown Toronto, and brawling with Diddy in Miami, Drake is being honoured in his hometown for a second time around. He definitely is our U.G.K. (Underground King) whether some people won’t like to admit it or not. I personally feel that all the attention Drake brings to the Raptors and their fans, makes them more motivated and this season shows what that can do.

The shirt below is the new design that will be handed out to all ticket holders at the ACC tonight:

Opposed to the black and gold theme of last season, this year’s Drake Night shirt is a little more retro – embracing the 20th Anniversary with the original Raptors logo and lettering. I like the look but white gets dirty.

The Air Canada Centre will be a white-out sell-out crowd Tonight, seeing as Drake has again picked the Brooklyn Nets as the opposing team. I would love to be sitting court side at this game, especially if Jay-Z made an appearance. I’m sure scalper’s are making a killing tonight.

Last year, before their victory on Drake Night, Drake announced the starting lineups, did commentary with Matt and Jack, and got a special Drake suit jacket with his nickname inside.

street art financial district

A reader tipped off a popular Toronto-based blog, Blog TO, to this anonymous street art spotted in the Financial District last night. Located at Commerce Court, it is attached to Derrick Stephan Hudson’s bronze sculpture Temba, Mother of Elephants, which was installed in the courtyard in 2002. The piece is simple but effective in my opinion, two ball and chains with gold dollar signs are attached to the young elephants, which serves as both a reminder of the area’s fundamental purpose and as a subtle critique of this particular style of public art.

What I like most about this particular style of art is that it usually consists of sculptures installed at public spaces. This isn’t the kind of art you can hang on your wall, it is meant to be displayed outdoors against authority to open the public eye to current issues in our society. It is usually done by someone who, like in this case, wishes to remain Anonymous. This adds a certain mystic that draws my attention. Unfortunately, the shackles were quickly removed as of 9:30 a.m.

5 Panel Hats

Just like the snap back, 5 panels have also made a comeback into the fashion world. I would say this is due to hip-hop influence, particularly Tyler the Creator. The formation of the hat makes for a more comfortable fit and they incorporate an old school feel with the buckle style fitting strap.

Many of the major labels have their own 5 panels now so you can rep whoever you like. One company I’d like to point out is Toronto’s own Birth of Heroes Co. Their Hawaiian themed hats look dope and I can’t wait to add a few to my collection.

Gangster Burger is a toast to the bad guys.

Each item on the menu is created in honor of one of history’s most notorious criminals, right down to the specific toppings used.

The interior is designed to be a quick grab-and-go style burger joint, because real gangster’s don’t have time to stick around. There is a vintage-styled collage along the main wall that portrays all of these gangsters in there prime. A personal favorite characteristic of the shop for me is the vintage glass bottles that your pop comes in, which really makes the whole experience authentic.

They are located at 607 Queen Street W, Toronto, make sure to bring cash and they will make you a burger you can’t refuse!

Have you ever wanted to just get up and go to California? It seems like a far fetched idea, however; for those adventurous ones who are interested in taking the scenic route, it is only a bus ride away.

A little over 6 months ago, I was determined to go visit L.A. for my first time. I was looking everywhere online for the cheapest last minute flights but they were still pretty pricey. I began looking into other options and that’s when I came across a travelers site where they have mapped out the bus route right from Union Station in Toronto, Ontario all the way to Cali.

This is a great option for someone who is looking for an adventure. The trip will cost you $299C and take 3 days one-way. You can find last minute round trips that are slightly cheaper and way more time efficient, I would suggest this route for those that are looking for the experience over everything.

So whether you’ve packed your bags and plan on being the next big Hollywood star or you’re just in for a thrill, follow the guide below:

  1. Take Amtrak/Via “Maple Leaf” from Toronto (Union Station) to Buffalo (you could also choose Rochester, Syracuse, Utica, or Schenectady, if you would rather sight-see somewhere else)
  2. Catch the “Lake Shore Limited” west to Chicago, NY.
  3. Transfer to “Southwest Chief” to Kingman AZ.
  4. Transfer immediately to thruway bus to Las Vegas, NV.
  5. Once you’re in Las Vegas, there are multiple bus lines you can take to various areas of California, such as Los Angeles or San Francisco
Depart Toronto, ON 8:30 am $62
Arrive Buffalo, NY 1:25 pm (or stay on)
Depart Buffalo, NY 11:59 pm $69
Arrive Chicago, NY 9:45 am +1
Depart Chicago, NY 3:15 pm $139.41
Arrive Kingman, AZ 11:46 pm +1
Depart Kingman, AZ 11:50 pm (check) $28.59
Arrive Las Vegas, NV 3:10 am +1 $299

*Note: The “Maple Leaf” bus from Union departs once every day at 8:30 am. You can pay for your tickets either by phone or you can pay for them at the Toronto ticket office, they have an Amtrak computer on their counter next to the via computers, and they can issue all of your tickets for your entire trip, they accept both C$ or US$.

For more info. call Amtrak at 1.800.usa.rail or book your trip here now.

This morning, during a press conference, Mayor of Toronto, Rob Ford, admitted to his allegations of smoking crack.  Really!?

It’s obvious the guy likes to party but I’m still not convinced. I mean, cocaine I can see because it’s an exclusive drug like the mayor’s lifestyle. Crack is the lowest form of drug out there, designed and used by people who wanted to make the most out of cocaine because they can only afford small quantities. It just doesn’t make sense to me however, he admitted to it so it must be legit right? It’s almost admirable that someone who likes to drink and get high can attain a such a position to run a large city in this day and age. There is hope for us all!

Although, watching his confession did look awkward and dishonest, there’s definitely more to this story and I’m excited to see how it all unfolds. There is some underlying events going on that are placing pressure on Rob Ford, partly political and partly criminal. The best part is, he cannot be removed from office he will have to re-sign on his own. Well played Mr. Ford.

Do you think this is the honest truth? Check out his confession for yourself..

I’ve recently gotten into the EDM scene around Toronto and the the main reason for this is not the music, but the EDM Girls.  The rave attire that they wear are the sexiest outfits by far. Typically, the basis of their outfit is a pair of booty shorts and a bra for starters. They also incorporate many different types of accessories such as bead bracelets, baby soothers, Kandi masks, furry boots and sleeves, and various glowing items to draw your attention even further.

These girls know how to party and are the most fun loving people I have ever met in my life. PLUR, which stands for Peace Love Unity Respect, is a common term used in the EDM world and these girls live it to the fullest. When you go to any other style of club, girls are typically stuck up, attention seeking, and only looking for you to buy them a drink or two. EDM girls are usually on molly and not looking for drinks, therefore they just want to dance and appreciate a good time.

If you have never been to an EDM club I would suggest you drive by a line up one time and see for yourself!
